Yesterday 06/21 I harvested a Kudu bull at 433m / 473yds with a friends .338 Lapua Mag with 250gr Sierra Gameking. It was shot on the shoulder with a full penetration. The angle of the shot was 20 degrees and ranged with Leupold RXII.

Nice one! Good shooting!

What is the largest animal you can legally hunt with the 338 LM in Africa?

Congratulations, nice shooting. Just curious what happens with the animal...is the meat given away or shipped back to your home...Just wondering.

Thanks for comments.
The minimum calibre for dangerous game (big five) is .375. The largest animal will be an Eland. A friend 100 miles up the road took one with a 600m shot.

The average weight of a Kudu bull carcass in our area is 130kg / 280lb.

The meat is for home consumption. "Vegetarian is the bushman word for bad hunter":D
