Hey guy's, I'm looking for any info on a slower burn rate powder for my factory weather warrior savage with 24 inch tube with a factory brake. I have a pretty accurate load with 65 grains of I M R 4350 and a 140 berger vld but would like some imput on loads some of you may have. I have rl 22, rl 25, h- 4831, mag pro, and h-1000

.010 off the lands. Start at 68.0 gr of H1000 and work up. You can probably get pretty far north of 3200 fps before you hit pressure. You should be able to settle in on a load with good ES/SD's.

Deadly *** deer round.

My Savage Weather Warrior in 7mm magnum was set up like yours. Actually I had my best results with 140gr bullets using H-4831 and Hybrid 100V. With 160-168gr bullets, Reloader 19 was outstanding. Retumbo shot heavier bullets ok but not nearly as well as RL-19.

red dawg,
First I suggest you go to our website and read Erics article "VLDs,making them shoot. Any seating depth testing should be done at the lowest powder charge listed for the bullet/powder cartridge combination you are testing. Once your seating depth accuracy node is found. Work you load back up slowly checking for pressure signs and your accuracy. All of the loads below are based on a COAL of 3.290 inches and a 26 inch barrel.
RE-22 - 62.5gr min - 68.0 max APPROX velocities 2914-3175 fps APPROX fill ratio = 97%
RE-25- 65.0 " - 70.8 ' " " 2939- 3207 " " " " = 103% ( compressed load)
H4831 SC - 60.0 gr min - 66.7 max APPROX velocities - 2786 - 3103 fps APPROX fill ratio = 95%
AAMAGPRO - 66.0 gr min - 71.8 max APPROX velocities - 2908- 3187 fps APPROX fill ratio = 97%
H 1000 - 66.0 min - 72.2 max APPROX velocities - 2836 - 3144 fps APPROX fill ratio = 105% ( compressed load)

Please always start at the lowest powder charge and work up !!!

Thanks Guy's, as I stated I have a load of this bullet and imr 4350, and my gun's all like the bullet touching the lands, but not jammed, this change in powder will this gun still like touching or is this gonna take some experimenting as a new development?

red dawg,
Try it at the seating depth you have off the lands now that works BUT WORK THE LOAD BACK UP FROM MINIMUM with the new powder. See if that works. MAY save you some time. If it dosen't work. Read Erics article and follow the instructions.

Will do, I always start from the bottom and work up by half grain increases till approaching max then .2 increase Thanks a lot Phil enjoy your day
