If a fella wanted to build a short, light weight 20" max barrel length 6 Dasher, what would your build list look like?

Does anyone make a compact or mini action with a .473 bolt face?

It would look like this!

Unfortunately it's not as light as it could be. Just the budget I had. Could have saved 8-10 ounces on a lightweight action and probably the same on a lightweight traditional style stock. I would also bet about the same doing a 0 or 1 steel barrel. This is a 16.5" proof with and a deadair nomad ti on the end.

What are the specifics?

Action, stock, etc...

I'm thinking a BAT Bumblebee would be a good action, or possibly convert my Pierce SkeleTi to a standard bolt face. I' don't care too much for super skinny steel barrels since I do run suppressed virtually 100% of the time. The BAT action may limit my options for a lightweight but vertical grip stock.

Bat Igniter
Mcmillan game hunter
TT special
Hawkins m5 hunter bm and mag with spacer kit (runs flawless)
16.5" proof sendero
20 moa Bat rail
Seekins rings
Leica amplus 6 3-18

The bumblebee doesn't limit stock but just adds more hassle to the process of having it inlet for the flat bottom and bosses. I have a bumblebee in an alterra stock and it took a long time to have Bat inlet the stock for me. If I had the budget I'd go for the vesper but if not the Igniter because I don't have to send the stock off for inlet at extra time and expense. I've moved to the kelbly nanook's now and like them quite a bit. My only gripe with them is the trigger hanger... don't know why a hunting action needs that. It takes up space that could allow for a longer magazine length rather than the hanger protruding forward into that space.

Just worked up a load yesterday with 88 grain hammer hunter to shoot some pigs in a couple weeks. Looks like I'll be right at 2900 fps.

I've been shootimg 87 vmax for coyotes and squirrels and 108 eldm,112 match burners, 115 rdf and 105 a max for paper/steel. This cartridge seems to eat everything and love it. I have a heavier one built on a sako 85 varmint for more paper/steel fun and it will also be getting a 22 dasher barrel soon.

I'll be interested to see your build come together. I've wondered how light I could have made one with the right budget.

I have a 22" barrel Dasher. Not exactly light though. I've actually never weighed it. Just bought some 75 HHT to try in it. It shoots the 103 ELDX and 105 Berger VLDH very good with Varget or H4350. Got some Benchmark to try with the 75 HHT. Be sure to get a M5 inlet to use mags so it feeds. Mine is terrible with a BDL. Still not sure how to get it to feed properly.

Just put this one together. It's basically the same as my current hunting rifles. 21" proof Sendero and 7lbs 4 ounce scoped.

If I was to build a light weight dasher, then I would choose impact NBK action, MDT HUNT 26, with a benchmark carbon barrel. I would use Preece precision to do the chambering.

My dasher is currently chambered by Garret, and man does it shoot. Timing is correct, and has .140 freebore. I know he has proof barrels in stock currently and might also have the action.

Shooting 105 lapua. Peterson Brass, 2,850FPS.

Metal plate at 660 yards, with a wind gust.

Kelbly Nanook SA
20" Proof CF Sendero Light
Manners LRH
BixN Andy Tac Sport Pro X
DBM bottom metal of choice
Accurate mag w. Primal Right BR spacer/follower kit

My 22GT is built close to this.
22" Proof CF Sendero instead.

Suppressed and scoped, it is a great coyote gun. 77TMKs @ 3200, or 90SMK @ 3086.
