I ALWAYS stop at Kwik Trips. Two of them are a short walk from my home. Been using them for 40 years.

This one was on day 1 of my trip. Notice the help wanted sign. LOOKING FOR GLAZER LOVERS.

Just imagine being hired to eat glazer donuts.....!

Well, I immediately applied for a job. Haven't heard back yet. Fingers crossed...

I had 3 total. Each one lasts 20 to 40 miles depending on how much assist you are requiring of it. Full charge takes 5 hours. I carried two chargers Selected campsites with electric hookups. Motels were used in a couple spots that had no suitable campsites....but did have beds and showers.

This bike motor is "pedal assist", meaning you must pedal. I spent about 9 hours per day on the road, 6 or 7 of them on the bike. If I used the same amount of muscle power but no assist, I would not have gotten nearly as far obviously.

And more significantly, I wouldn't have sufficient motivation to do any trips remotely similar in difficulty. They are a god send.

I don't think being a donut taster/eater and biking 463 miles go together well! 🤣
Or at least prior to the ride !!

After testing bike and gear with a few overnight trips I developed a 7 day route in the Driftless Area of SW Wisconsin. Fantastic rolling hills that were never scraped smooth when the glaciers scrubbed much land north, west and south of the unaffected area

The route design was 410 miles but I modified it on the go and ended up riding 463 miles and 22,000 vertical feet of climbs over 7 days. The screenshot below shows the planned route before in the field add-ons.

The rivers shown are the Mississippi on the west and the Wisconsin at the bottom...running east/west. My last day included a ferry ride accross the Wisconsin River.

Great trip and beautiful landscape. I especially especially admire the picture you took of what looks like a red-tailed hawk sitting on top of the road sigm. Our people consider that a good sign.
