Can someone offer and explain a thing or two.

Going to be carrying my Ruger Redhawk 44 Mag 7.5" barrel with me on my Colorado Big Game Hunting this fall.

1. Anyone suggest whether I should carry it with a chest holster or a hip holster.
2. I don't want to spend much over $100.00, but would like a decent leather holster if possible. Any suggestions?

3. Why do I always see that this "hoster fits a single action, but not a doulbe action" for the Ruger ...hawk models? What is the real diff?

Thanks

A redhawk is alot bigger frame than a blackhawk (single action). I could see why a holster would fit one and not the other.

I always prefer bianchi holsters for my revolvers.

If you get a hip holster my advice is to attach a sturdy pair of suspenders to your belt, to take off some of the weight. A big revolver tends to grind off my hips after awhile, and the suspenders help alot.

I'm sure you'll find a good combo.
