L46 Sako Forester 222 value

Gun was made in 1961, and has the original rings and 8 power Redfield. A buddy has a friend who is selling it, he said it's in really good shape for its age. He also has 100 pieces of new brass. Was thinking about for a plinker for my kids. Anybody had one? I think I can get it for around $500

Awesome rifles, and the 222 is an easy to shoot/accurate round. I hunted with my Grandpas rifle when I was a kid (50 years ago).

Was able to get it today. Cool gun for sure. Can't wait for the kids to shoot it
