JD AD Rant - update!

I nuked it... or at least I wounded it.

That explains it ... thank you Sir!

Well, it's going to be there, just not nearly as often per day. It's supposed to show only once per day per user, or in some cases per session per user, depending on how your own internet service provider assigns IP addresses to you.

6 times did that loud obnoxious thing come on. No problem with advertising and making a living, but that is really annoying. As for me I am not into Tractors. Just into long range fuun!lightbulb

Sorry guys. It's not supposed to be seen more than once a day per user.

Just to be sure, are we talking about the real wide ad centered and just below the navigation bar?

Where the Barrett ad is in this screen shot?

According to my stats, yesterday that John Deere ad hardly ran at all.

Yes that is where the ad starts, but it all of a sudden will open up full screen and take over the whole window. Its on my screen probably 90% of the time and has been opening up every time without me clicking on it. However, this morning I updated Java and haven't had a single problem with it opening up since. I'll keep my fingers crossed that my outdated Java package was what was causing the issue.

For the benefit of others, can you tell us which browser program you use and how to update java.

I have problems with the ad when I use Firefox on a PC. Firefox on my Mac has never had any problems. Anyway, here is the link to upgrade Java for any platform. The instructions are pretty easy to follow and installation took me about 3 minutes.

Download Java for Windows

Someone else should try it and see if it fixes their problems too.

IE 9 on my work PC runnin' winders 7 and the JD ad is still there several times throughout the day, just not as obnoxious. As of now, 3:55pm EDT, moving the mouse over no longer detonates the ad. whoever did it...Thanks

not able to use Firefox at work. IT won't allow the install.
