Yesterday I reloaded some 308 Win rounds for a friend. He had several rounds that the bullets needed to be pulled, because he got them mixed up and wasn't sure what they were. So I pulled the bullets and put them right back in the seating die with the new bullets. All the bullets seemed very easy to put in, but I didn't think much of it. This morning I noticed that the bullets were loose and some had actually fallen into the case. I'd never seen this before. I'm assuming where I messed up, was not running the cases through the sizing die after removing the old bullets? Or is there another problem going on I'm not aware of?

Nope you got it. You lost the neck tension when you removed the bullets

Yup, just run the brass through the die again to resize, you can remove the decapping pin so you don't pop off the good primers

Be Sure To Remove The Powder Too.
Shoving a decapping stem into the powder could be dangerous, And crush the powder changing its burning rate. .
