I found a cheap supply of IMR 7828. And was wondering if anybody has ran this powder in 30-06 and got good velocity and accuracy? Or would I better off with IMR 4350 as far as velocity is concerned??

Thanks, Bill Gohring...

PS. I have a .243 Win. If you have any loads concerning IMR 7828. I would love to hear them also. Thanks again....

I use it in my .30-06 AI with Berger 185 VLD's and Fed 210M primers. Fast and accurate.

I'd have jumped on them, too, for that price. Are they all the same lot #?

Yes they are. It was a small little gun shop in a village here in Ohio. People in that area are shot gunners. He had it on the shelf for a long time and it wouldn't sell. So he cut me a deal just to get rid of it....

+1 I use 7828 in my 30-06AI under Berger 185 Juggernauts. Its my go-to load and rifle for a local steel silhouette match that runs from 560 to 950 yards. Runs the Juggernauts uick and very accurately.

Good to see you back on here Jeff. Been a while.

Barrel is 27.0" bolt face to crown;
runs the Juggs @ 2,850 fps.
Brass is Lapua - 71.6 gr capacity;
COAL is 3.365" (might be a touch longer now I chase the lands to stay 10 thou off.

Elevation needs are in MOA and seem to work +/= 1/2 MOA regardless of the temps that we have had for the matches on my home range (elev. 2,235 ft)
(these distances are where the 1.0 to 1.5 MOA steel targets are set up)
560 yards - 8.5
730 yards - 13.0
880 yards - 17.50
950 yards - 22.5

She'll run a 175 SMK @ 2,930+/-
