Identifying a stock?

After some research. The best I could come up with. When it came to the correct designation for this stock is a McMillan M40-A4 Mod2. Badger Ordnance M5 bottom metal.

There were several transitional stocks shortly after the original USMC M40-A3 rifles were built. Several modifications of the stock once they started using them. Hence Mod1 and Mod2.

I don't know if I'm correct or not. Maybe one of you are more up to speed with M40 stocks.

When the number of variations exceed our ability to make the proper judgement it's best to contact McMillan to get the proper assessment.

I purchased the stock secondhand McMillan's gone way downhill from the times of old. My last eight or ten builds have been done on AG carbon fibers and I'm very pleased with their models and stocks..along with their customer service and delivery times that make. McMillan's delivery times look dismal.

You couldn't pay me to call McMilkan. Besides. Getting them to answer. It would take an act of Congress. Let alone a call back.
