This stock I took off a Remington 700 long action. I am trying to remember back thirty years, but I was sure when the rifle was put together it was a McMillan.
it was bedded, not by me, and is very well done. No pillars however.
it clearly is a fiberglass exterior. However the receiver body core is a hard wood.
I am wanting to sell it but don't want to advertise it as McMillan if that is incorrect.
Anyone recognize the manufacturer? Thanks

Not meaning to derail your question but I have a couple of wood stocks with pillar inserts & action bedding that has been epoxy painted. They look like a fiberglass stock and are actually stiffer than the bell & Carlson stocks I have. I don't have any hesitation about the functionality of them. Ruger's Hawkeye long range is wood that's epoxy painted and it looks pretty darn good.

It could be ether a brown precision. or a McMillan in my opinion. I am pretty sure the HS precisions were all foam core.

It really doesn't matter because back then they were pretty much the same quality, and cost.
Ask what you wan't and see if it sales.
