We all know the ballistics of the hybrids are phenomenal and if berger ever puts out the 7mm 190's+ some impressive things probably will happen, BUT why hasn't there been a 270 hybrid??

I mean you have the .308 215's, .284 180's, .264 140's how about a slick target bullet in the .270??

I wonder the same thing. The 280 Remington is very popular and has great barrel life with manageable recoil and decent trajectory. A 270 with a good bullet seems to be an unexplored area. Figure a 170 or 175 .277 hybrid... The BC would have to be pretty high, maybe .650 or better.

2640 fps with 55.5 gr H4831sc and CCI 200 over a 26" Hart barrel. Only powder I have played with so far.

First build and didn't specify to the smith to throat it long. Shoots well enough though.

.270 Win was my first and only centerfire rifle for well over a decade. I never understood why a .284" bullet only .007" wider could come in so many weights and high BC configurations but nothing for .270. To make matters worse then the 6.5mm bullets started popping up like wild flowers but still not much for the .270. Eventually I gave up and converted my old .270 to a 7mm Rem Mag. Brother had a 7 Mag as long as I had my .270, just made sense to both carry the same caliber when we go hunting just to ward off Mr Murphy. I've never looked back.

My .270 AI was built primarily for 165 and 175 Matrix VLDs. Current accuracy load is 2993 FPS for the 175 with Win brass, BR2, 58 H4831SC out of Lilja 30" 1:8" 3-groove barrel.
