As I get older ( read stiffer fingers) I like 3# as the lightest. I can live with a much heavier trigger on a hunting rifle IF it breaks clean. I hate a spongy trigger! My Afrikaner buddy in south Africa set his triggers very stiff, but he curled his finger around the trigger as he was a soldier for years and used the R1 (their FN FAL copy) and just got used to it. When I used one of his rifles, I would invariably shoot low since I used the proper pad of my trigger finger, if I got in a hurry. I had to concentrate a lot and I did not enjoy using them. To each his own, right?
