I've got a good shooter in 30 Nosler. The gun roughly 9lb dressed. It has a wood stock. Question, can someone give me an idea how much weight I can shave off using a carbon fiber stock. It's a M70 action, #4 26" BRux

I would weigh the wood stock and see what it weighs first. Some wood stocks are pretty light but there can be a lot of variation depending on wood density and style.
I will, but Is it safe to say 1 1/2 lb maybe two. If it's a pound i'd question if it's worth a change

Unless your wood stock is really heavy, the difference will be less than a pound. The heaviest model 700 stocks I own are laminated and weigh about 44 ounces. The lightest carbon fiber stock I own weighs about 32 ounces.

For reference:

ive got a manners EH1 carbon shell stock with PTG bottom metal & magazine. 2 lbs. 14 oz.
stock Remington BDL wood stock with BDL floor plate- 2 lbs 12 oz.

I prefer the manners over the wood stock just because it fits me better, but for weight savings alone, I believe your better putting your money towards better optics!

My last two McMillan Edge filled stocks both weighed 25.5 ozs........
I've got a Brown Precision fiberglass blank that weighs 18.5 ounces but it isn't suitable for use with a Model 70 chambered in 30 Nosler.

Here's one of the 25.5 ounce stocks in a 700 L/A 6.5 PRC.......
