I decided to give the 143gr Hammer Hunters in my custom 7 Rem Mag and today finally got a chance to shoot them at the range for a pressure test.

Maybe the H1000 I have and tried on this trip is not the right powder? These speeds were pretty surprisingly slow, although all 8 shots were in the same hole, loaded at .020 off the lands...

Components:

new Peterson brass, 215m primers, H1000 and the 143gr hammer hunter .020 off the lands (COAL is 3.370" in my rifle)

67.0- 2,951
67.5-2,938
68.0- 2,951
68.5- 2,943
69.0- 2,996
69.5- 2,996
70.0- 3,030
70.5- 3,048

* I do have a 22" barrel but I still feel like I'm really slow compared to the data I looked at in one of the hammer load data uploads on the forum.

For reference, also with H1000, I was able to get up to 69.5gr H1000 in the same brass with 180gr Berger hybrids at 2,890 fps and no pressure.

I also have the following powders I could try if they're more suitable for the 143's:

RL26
VV N560
VV N565
IMR 7828 ssc
H4831sc
H4350

Thanks for any help either way guys!

My buddy shot 143 out of his 7saum and they were SLOW. I want to say he hit pressure around 2900 with h4350.
