I shot new cases and got all kinds of different numbers. It has been suggested to shoot 2 or 3 times to settle down. But how far back do i bump and from what measurement do i use to fire a second time if i got all these different headspace numbers?

I just neck size for first 3 loadings. With a fl type sizer just adjust up so it sizes the neck and body with no shoulder bump. Then make sure it chambers

Make sure you use a decapping die to pop the primer BEFORE you try and measure headspace growth. Effort in futility if you don't. I bet your number variation really shrinks up after you pop primers and remeasure. Even with new brass, I usually only get .001-.002" variation once primers are popped.
Then bump back .002" from your longest measurement when you FL size, and test fit in your rifle.
