Hammer Hunter Load Data, (See page 1, Post 8)

My daughter took a shot at a doe at 210 yards this year with a 124 HH around 2920 FPS and had the vapor trail like that. She pulled the shot and I watched as the vapor trail went right over the doe's back. I assumed it was because it was around freezing outside? The tips definitely have oil in them and I never thought about that being the cause or cleaning it out.

I figured it was the oil. I've had to pull a few hammers and when you us a hammer style puller oil from the tips always comes out and clumps the powder. Wonder how much that affects weight and long range performance?

143 HH, 7stw, 80.7gr rl-25
I doubt they could put enough oil in the tip to create a vapor trail. This was 70 deg and 70% humidity in Texas last week.

I got 3350 with the 131 HH in my 7mm Weatherby and a 26 inch barrel.
143 is ~10% heavier but the 7mm STW is ~6.5% larger capacity.

The 3300 may be close to correct.
