Hammer Hunter Load Data, (See page 1, Post 8)

I am new to hammer bullets, and would like to buy the right ones for hunting.
Anyone have a good recommendation for hammer bullet size and powder choice for a 16" barreled 6.5x47 with a 8 inch suppressor.
Have been running 123 Hornady Amax with 38.3 Varget getting 2750fps. only fair accuracy.

Also have a 26" barreled gun been running 130 Bergers with 43gr of vv 550 at 2950fps

Any help would be welcome.

thanks,

Ben Wiley

I use the 124 HH in one of my 6.5x47's. It has a 25" benchmark 8 twist. With H4350 I get 2938 FPS. This bullet or maybe a lighter one in your short barrel should be good. I'd maybe lean towards lighter, like maybe 110 gr. On game performance (whitetail) has been exceptional.

Call Hammer Bullets and talk to them they answer the phone most times if not leave a message they will call back

Note - mag primers would be ideal in this situation. Cheap Winchester cup is piercing with no to little case pressure indicator.

I'd try the 109 with H4895 if I were you. 36.5-39 should be about right.

Well, the effort to cut/paste an excel spreadsheet didn't work. Sorry for the SNAFU.
This 7mm 90g HH might make a suitable </= 400y piggie pill to use in California.
We'll see.
