Groups that make you smile!

The first 3 shots were smaller but i managed to open it up with 3 more! Its a semi-custom Tikka that i rebarreled to 25-06 using an Adams & Bennett barrel 26'' finished length.

Korhil78,
Impressive groups, I would like to have a 338 of some sort. Here in the Midwest it isn't really that practical, no place to stretch it out to it's limits. So I will stick to the 7mm and the 300wm for now. But that's not all bad either.:D

Nope, not bad at all. The 300 WM and 7mm mag have been taking game at extended ranges for quite some time. I have not taken any game with this rifle yet but I hope to get a long range shot on a bull elk next year.

That is with a stock WW! rifle, shooting 3 shots after this ladder test.

Look at the condition of that bore.

But it shoots wonderfully.

Thea are the groups that have made me smile the most.

1300 yards 4 shots measuring 4.8"

Went out two days later to see if I could repeat for consistency.
1300 yards 4 shots measuring 4.9"

Both groups were about 5" off point of aim so I was happy with that.

The gun:
338 Lapua
26" hart sendero contour barrel 1:10
McMillan A3 stock
CSR muscle brake
Jewell trigger
Nightforce 5.5-22x50

looks just like BigBucks new build he has a 28 inch I think not got his group that good yet I don't think you loading 300 gr. bergers ? what is your load and powder great shooting by the way

what does it do at 300 to 500 yds.
It will shoot under half moa all the way out to a 1000 that's as far as I've shoot actually 1060 then I ran out of room.steel.jpg the steel is 6" diameter 3 shots from 905yds.

Wy. 2013 009.jpg this group made me smile the most but it was just a one shot group thru the lungs and into off side shoulder 803yds. Wy. Sept.2013 It is what I practiced for 18mos to do.

Load is:

300 gr Berger OTM
93 gr of H1000
OAL by measuring from the ogive is 3.058"
Measuring from the tip of the bullet is 3.900". It is a single shot so I don't have to worry about them fitting into a magazine.

They are loaded .015" from the lands.

I don't shoot this load above 80 degrees as ejector marks will start to show. But I don't ever hunt anywhere where it is above 75 degrees so I am good. It is super accurate. This Friday, I am going to take it out to 1780 and see what kind of groups I get.

First 9 shots out of my 308 cleaning between each one. Fella beside me at the range kept telling me I was missing the target, lol.

24-shot hot lap group during first stage of load development and break-in for my 100% factory Remington 700 5R .308 Win. This was shots 77-100 down the tube...

Overall corrected measurement was 1.286". I was so excited I wrote all over the target before remembering to subract the caliber diameter first. So, please ignore that.

It's amazing how well a gun will group once you break it in...

This is how it was shooting before I shot that group...I'm definitely not proud of these at all, but that's what it was like before, then it all of a sudden started wanting to act right...And shot the above group. LOL

Straight out of the box Savage 110 BA in 338 Lupua shooting 300 grain Sierras at 2794 FPS. The very first group I shot and I didn't even measure it.
