Just picked up a Tikka T3 Lite Stainless .308 :cool:this weekend

Looking for Glass Suggestions without busting the Bank
probably out 2-300 yards

anyone put a Bell and Carlson or similar stock on theirs

also considering a muzzle break so my 13 year old doesn't get too beat up shooting it

any other thoughts

Thanks in Advance

Mike

Hunting or target shooting? If only 300 yards, I would suggest looking at either a fixed 6x-10x SWFA SS or maybe a Weaver Grand Slam Tactical (@ midway) 3.5-10x40. Both come with mil/mil, though the Weaver is 1" tube, and therefore MUCH less travel. Less than $300 each.

A great scope without breaking the bank, right around $200, is the Vortex Diamondback with the BDC reticle. Available in 3.5x10x50mm or 4x12x50mm. Both great scopes, great glass and even a better warranty. Check it out.

I bought my son (12) a tikka T3 lite/SS in 270 win in June. We mounted a Zeiss Conquest 3-9x40. Great scope, perfect fit for rifle. I also put on a limb saver recoil pad (did not fit perfect, I took to a machine shop and had it profiled so it would sit inside lip on stock). No issues with recoil at all. I'd try this route before a brake.

As a side note, this is the most accurate factory rifle I have ever shot, out of the box.. During load development, I had two different Barnes 110 TTSX loads shooting 1/2" or under at 100 yds (3 shot).

Great choice for your son, you will both love it.
