I am looking for suggestions on a gear back for an upcoming WY elk & mule deer by horseback. I can't use a backpack with frame as the bag will be strapped to a pack horse. The max I can have in the bag is 40 lbs so it does not have to be huge. Ideally the bag would be sturdy and water resistant if not water proof and would be OK to check for airline travel. I have checked Bass Pro & Cabelas but nothing really jumped out as a good option. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated!lightbulblightbulb

Go to Walmart and purchase two 40L waterproof bags. They can be found in the camping section. Split your load between the two.

I also hunt with an outfitter out of Wyoming where you can only have 40 lbs of gear and this is what I do.
