Well, I'm trying to decide if I want to pull the trigger on this scale. As I've posted on here before I am struggling with my ES/SD with my 338LM 11.7/38 respectively and that's the best I can get it doing what I'm doing. The only thing left (As mentioned on here) is replace the chargemaster. To those who have already made the plunge, will this scale make the difference and get that ES/SD where it should be? Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't hesitate to make that change.
It rules out the unseen boogeyman.

Do you have access to a friend's or one anywhere close by to check some Chargemaster drops?

Biggest improvement of my bench was an upgrade to the Fx 120i and V4 auto trickler. FWIW some chamberings are harder to bring the SD and ES super low, slow burning powders are famous for that, all about ignition. I think it'll improve, what is your goal numbers wise?

Too many things involved in lowering ES/SD, but if that is your goal then you have to start somewhere. With that sad, I think it is one of my better tools for reloading…love mine.

One thing that it brings is confidence, which for me seems to make a measurable difference. The fact that it makes loading quick and easy is a huge bonus.

Can you still find the FX120i. I know it's been discontinued and replaced by the FX123.

Absolutely love mine and made a huge improvement in time savings. But I was going from a beam scale and doing everything manually. I'll say though that the RCBS beam scale was super accurate. Had to pull some bullets and measured the charges on the fx120i and they were all within a couple hundredths of a grain.

The FX-120i is the best reloading tool I've bought after my press and dies. I wish I'd bought it five years earlier. But I also wish someone had told me: it won't make bad brass or sloppy technique good, it just stops lying to you about your powder charges.

What powder are you using and what % of case fill do you have? I use a chargemaster to do my initial drop while verifying/adjusting on a US Solid scale which goes to .001 grain( use to use a Denver instruments .02). I can say that the chargemaster with N570 was ver inconsistent but speed up my process. Getting an accurate powder charge will improve you ES/SD but as others have pointed out there are additional things that will effect it as well.

The A&Dfx120 or a tuned beam scale will certainly weigh charges to one kernel and though I rarely see the lowest ES/SD numbers point to the best grouping load, a good scale is certainly a top priority.
I use mine in conjunction with a Harrell's powder thrower and a Dandy trickler.
Hopefully you're shopping at Cambridge..

I bought a FX120i to verify the drops made by my ChargeMaster Supreme. To my surprise, the ChargeMaster was dropping very consistently, often dropping charges EXACTLY as indicated. While it's nice to own a FX120i, I probably didn't need it.

For those of you who've made the switch from a beam scale, did it improve accuracy or just speed up the process? I'm slow as I throw the charge and then trickle manually to get to target using a Redding beam scale.
