Walleye 4 of 4.jpg

Ohio Lake Erie is the 'new' walleye Capital of the U.S. The state estimates 150 million Walleye in the Lake.
Six and 7 years ago there were very large, successful spawns - favorable weather. Those fish are now in the 5lb range. Everyone coming back to the marina have their limit.

Sounds like I need to make a trip!

Best ones are cooked on a fire
In a cast iron pan.
On the shore of the lake they were just caught.
Yep, shore, lunches are the best—esp when someone else does the prepping and cooking. 🤣 On one of our annual fishing trips, we found a honey-hole, literally 10-15Y to the pan, and our guide said, "keep them coming."

Two key ingredients to catching them, find some moving water, even slightly moving, learn how to use small jigs, keeping the line tight and feeling the tap.
Trolling for them is ok, but very boring also.
They caught you, and you did the reeling. lol

If you want to see some of the action, google Port Clinton,Ohio - the center of Walleye in the Western Basin.
