found a couple good loads!

loaded up some berger 168 vld hunting (.308) with 38.5 to 43.0 grnsof varget in.5 grain increments. went out and shot them today. found a good nodes in 3 or 4 different areas. 39.0, 42.0, and 42.5 grn loads shot the best 42 grn shot a .342" group and 42.5 shot a .313 group. Varget powder, nosler brass, winchester large rifle primers. gun is a howa 308 with a 24" barrel. think ill hang on to it!

Varget is hard to beat. I like 45.5 grains under a Hornady 165 Interlock. The .308 is an easy caliber to get some good accuracy with. Good job.

I load for my friend's Sako 308 and use the 168 classic vld with 45 of varget in nosler brass with cci br2 primer. Shoots under 5/8moa out past 600 yards all day every day. Great combo. I think we were getting 2860fps with very low es and sd.
