First Custom

I got my first custom chambered rifle back this week. Well, semi-custom I guess. It's a 257 Weatherby built off of a trued Weatherby Mark V action. The barrel is a 28" proof stainless in competition contour. One of my good friends here on LRH did the black Myrtle stock in a hybrid target style.

I worked up a load today and it was the simplest load work up ever. I'm shooting 127 grain HHTs. It took 5 shots to find pressure. I backed off one grain and shot a five shot group into .33 MOA. Velocity was 3306 FPS. I couldn't be happier with it.

Beautiful. I am afraid to look at it. I might just scratch it.
