Favourite .257 weatherby projectile

Assuming 1:10 twist I would say 115gr Berger HLVD 100gr Barnes TTSX. Maybe the lighter hammers too. I never shot them in my old 1:10 barrel.

Faster twist I would look at heavier Hammers or Bergers 133 or 135gr. I am working with all 3 currently.

Right now I'm shooting the 100 grain ttsx in my 257, I like it just in case a deer shows up closer than anticipated. I've had really good luck with the 115 Berger and have killed deer with Sierras, Hornady, Noslers.
It's usually like turning off a light switch when hit with anything out of the 257 Weatherby. I didn't like the 110 grain Accubonds, killed two bucks and they were the only deer that I've ever had take more than a few steps when hit with the 257.
Most people like them though.

For my 1:7 twist I've tinkered with these: left to right--110gr hammer, 128gr hammer, 110gr badlands super bulldozer2, 135 Berger, 131 BJ.

The 128 is responsible for 2 one-shot kills with impressive terminal performance. But 3150fps is just too slow for my liking... It is a weatherby after all 🤷‍♂️😂.

I'm planning on using either of the 110's this fall for NM oryx and AZ coues deer. The ballistics for the bulldozer are pretty tough to beat when it leaves the barrel at a comfortable 3475. I still have some load development to do before I decide which 110 I'll be using.
