Good question, I would not on the first shot, but on a follow up shot on a wounded animal I would and I have.
Years ago I hit a 30"+ muley buck, and as he staggered over a ridge all he showed me was his butt end and I didn't shoot. Long story short, that was the last I ever saw of him, and I swore it would never happen again.
A few years later about the same thing happened with a 5pt bull elk, and I hammered him without hesitation. I got a lot of darn good meat, too.
