Not looking to blow up anyone's spot, but headed to NW Colorado for 2nd season rifle and was wondering if any could narrow down an elevation range to focus on.
thank you
That's a tough one to be specific with. I've hunted that area for 25 years and they can be anywhere between 6k to 11k it all depends on weather, water and pressure. Find a well used drainage with good visibility and get in there before daylight and let hunting pressure be your friend. In 25 years, that method has yielded me 22 bulls and over half of those were opening morning. Not looking to blow up anyone's spot, but headed to NW Colorado for 2nd season rifle and was wondering if any could narrow down an elevation range to focus on.

Agree. Late season cow tag last year I had to get up to 10k to find elk. Almost no snow on the ground at that time though. There was still bulls at 10,000' during the third season where I was at. I think it's fairly weather dependant though.
