Hey, I'll try to post some pics of my results with the eld-m vs the eld-x. The eld-m was the hands down winner. 4 shot group sizes ranged from .398-.940 with eld-m. From .698 to ~2" with eld-x. I tried a couple powders and seating depths with eld-x and couldn't get them to shoot consistently. Gun was a Browning X-Bolt 7mag. All other conditions were the same. Powder was RL23. Hope this helps someone!

I'm assuming the ELDMs and ELDXs used were of the same weight. 162 versus 162 and not 162 versus 175 etc...

Anyway, the only ELDXs I've really tested were the 178 30 cals and they've shot very well.

Let us know what weights you're using.

Good catch. I was using 162 grain in both the eld-m and eld-x.

ya, I shoot the 143 ELD-X in my 6.5 saum and it shoots lights out. .2-.3 groups out to 1000

I have loaded the eldx and eldm, and the 143 and 147 both liked .050" jump in my 260 AI, and both shot very similar, in a Ruger 7 mag the 162 shot best at .080-.100 jump, and it was VERY apparent (sub MOA in that range, 1.5"-3" outside) and the 200 eldx in a 300 mag shot best at .070" jump. I also tried the 212 eldx but the load it shot acceptable wouldn't fit in his mag. I have tried loading to the lands all the way to .120" jump with the 212 X, 200 X, 162 X, 147 M and 143 X and the all shot better jumped in my experience. But I have heard others get good accuracy when .005" off...so in other words...yes. use the berger seating depth method, it has worked the best for me.

I've used both the the 140's and 143's and seen very little diffrence at 1000yds. I normally get the 140 do to price and im just ringing steel

How close are the 260AI and the 6.5X284 Norma in case capacity. I think they may be only a few grains apart.

Never mind I just looked it up myself. water capacity is a definite difference.

I would say in performance there is not much difference though....I have a 30" barrel, but with H4831 I have got over 3000 with the 140's, with the 143 eldx my accurate load was 2975 and with the berger was 2930.

However, I just tried reloader 26 with the 147...and in my first load development, with my heaviest charge that still did not show overpressure signs, I averaged 3092...

That will be a hammer for a 6.5.
