78gr at 3800!
This may sound hard to believe , but I built a 25-284 a little over a year ago and got it up to 3874 fps with Lapua brass and rl19 using the 90 gr absolute . My average vel was 3860 fps with 62 grs I backed it down too 61.2 grs for a 3800 fps load the rifle is a 1-8 twist 25 in custom FN Mauser , haven't lost a primer pocket yet. I haven't killed anything yet with it but may have to test it this weekend . That 22-284 would be a neat round low recoil high BC and velocity. I have several donor rifles all I have to do is rebarrell . I have a Grand son that will be shooting soon that would be a great deer carrtridge. I'm curios what is the throating on this cartridge.
