Do you take kids with you on long range hunts ?

It has been a fact here in Australia that 12 and under ARE NOT permitted to use or handle firearms since 1996.
I have 2 sons, 12 & 11. I have taught them both safe gun handling and have had them both on several hunts.
With firearms in the house, the ONLY correct thing to do is teach them the correct way a firearm MUST be treated. It is ALWAYS treated as if it is loaded and to be NEVER played with.
A child here cannot obtain a junior firearm permit until 14 years.

Cheers.

Many of my best memories from childhood are hunting and fishing with my dad. I take one or both of my kids with me on most of my hunting trips. My son is 8 and daughter is 10. They both shoot well and have a healthy respect for firearms. My daughter has taken two deer now, both were excellent shots. She loves helping put food on the table. My son took his first deer this year and hasn't stopped talking about it for two months. Getting one of my nephews into it now. He got to tag along on a few hunts this year and loves it. It is very rewarding to see the smiles on their faces and excitement at every new experience.
