Was looking to have my action nitride finished, but now considering the DLC option as there is a company not far that offers it.

Anyone had their actions DLC'd? If so, did you completely disassemble the bolt?

BTW, spoke to Chad at Club Custom Guns, who seemed to be the " go to" for DLC work and he is no longer offering that service. He did refer me to this guy

What are you wanting to achieve?
Nitriding changes steel colour because it is a type of case hardening. Granted, it is only microns thick, but, still is what it is.
Turns steel a greyish colour.
It will slicken up the bolt.

Cheers.

Here's another option and they have a wide variety of coatings to choose from:

They are located in North Carolina also and may actually be doing the work for a lot of other companies.

Essentially I just want the action matte black, and if I can match the quality and slickness (equal or better than it already is), that's my goal.
