Will dillon dies work with a hornady single stage press? What dies are compatible with what brands? ya know?

Yes, they are compatible. Most dies (that I know of) and reloading machines use a 7/8" - 14 thread. JohnnyK.

Dillon makes both standard dies, and non standard dies for the Square Deal.

This will give you an idea of what they look like (if you don't know whether they are Square Deal dies or not): Dillon Precision: Reloaders, Reloading Equipment, Bullet Reloading, Bullet Reloaders.

If they look like regular dies, they are standard size.
