it's a 30-06 dbm center feed, just thinking if I could swap bolt heads, mag and barrels and screw on a long 300wsm barrel it could be shinanigans going between the 16" '06 and a 26" wsm running heavies
yes, just use the 300 win mag/ 375 ruger mag. might have to open the front of the feed lips to nose up the bullet slightly to enter the chamber easily.

i shoot a 30-6.8 western which is a shortened wsm on a small shank long action at 3.1" without any issues.

Savage used large shank for the wsm stuff. Some aftermarket prefit barrels don't though. You could easily get a 28 nosler mag and run wsm stuff. Maybe even a 300 win mag magazine.
Wow, there's another thing Savage did through the years. Different barrel nuts. Large and small. Some look smooth and others look like a 6 or 12 point socket. I never realized they even made a smooth looking nut back in the day. Until I was looking at a older 340 in 30 30 in the classifieds. They almost look like a lug when rifle sitting in the stock. Or the new style like on a Predator 110 I have. It's nice having options. But it does get confusing for me sometimes. I have no idea if the thread pitch is different between these many different styles either. Can a smooth looking nut be interchangeable with the other style nut ? Can someone chime in on this ?

Continuation of rant.

Please don't take all my fun away. I can't know everything about everything. But, I feel that sometimes some of these posters need a little lighthearted reminders 😁 of how they sound when they rant about the information they asked for.

Besides, this place is not only informative, but sometimes it is downright funny. And some of these thread derailments need to end; like this one. It was over with the first response!

There's an old thread here titled Old lefthand Savage 110cl and dl says in the 90 were long action with a block in them for the 308
Thats how my 22-250 is. It has a block in the back to keep the shells up towards the front.

I was wanting to attach the thread if someone could find it for us Savage nerds. lol
Actually, the title is Old Left Handed Production Info- Savage 110CL &110DL. Looks like it was started by a fellow name Dutch Jennings. Thread date is June 22, 2019. I just used google to find it. same thread on Savage Shooter. hope that helps. as I don't know how to attach a thread.

Here's another little nugget for the Savage nerds. Something to play with. Besides just adding a larger bolt knob. Add a lift kit from Desh. I purchased these in the past. Just be sure to order the correct one. I advise watching his videos.

Yes, just count all the replies on here. So much for a guy posting s question. What is the forum for, if a guy can't ask a question, for the other members here to help. It was the weekend when I placed my post, non the less. I belong to this forum. So from this point I will just look and write people directly. So much for freedom in America.
Glad everyone used my thread.
