Dealing with Palpitations...scary

Try a good electrolyte drink before you go into panic mode. It may just be low mineral levels causing this. I had that happen when I started using a sauna every evening. Turned out I was sweating out all my electrolytes. One can also lose electrolytes form urinating too frequently, and anything that has a diuretic effect can cause this. Alcohol is on that list. An evening of beer-swilling at the bowling alley, or over the card table with the lads can set you up for this the next day. Hangovers are often accompanied by cardiac arrhythmia. It's also what causes muscles to ache when hung over, and the headache. Dehydration is not just water loss.

My wife and I use "Potassium Cocktail" form Jigsaw Health. ( It used to be called "Pickleball Cocktail.") It's sugar free, and is sweetened with natural sweeteners - NOT aspartame. Occasional PVC's ( premature ventricular contractions ) which feel like skipped heart beats, went away after about a week on the electrolyte drink. When I was a cardiology tech, the first thing the cardiologist would order when a patient was having PVC's was a potassium level. Magnesium & sodium are also a player. If something else is causing these "palpitations," I would recommend having it dealt with muy pronto. Staying ahead of any problems with that organ is prudent.
