DANG IT!!! 8-40 scope base holes on new Model 700! ??

If you run into this issue a lot pachmyer, Leupold and I'm sure some others sell kits with multiple size screws from #6-8 in different threads and lengths. Pretty handy to have around if you like to switch things around a lot. You still might need to open a base hole now and then but it helps to have. I would imagine brownells or midway would carry them.

I was saying as far as the police rifle designations...the LTR is a PSS but with a short fluted barrel.

And the stock is shorter on the LTR. I've yet to see an LTR that wouldn't shoot ridiculously small groups if you skim bed the aluminum bedding blocks and put a good trigger in them.

The 700P I bought that I started this whole thread about also has a 5R barrel that is threaded for suppressor. It also has a Remington 40XP trigger which I know nothing about. It's heavy (8 pounds) but I have hopes that it will shoot as well as the LTR's but with higher muzzle velocities due to the 24" barrel vs the 20" barrel of the LTR.
