I am looking to getting a muzzleloader which may offer some more extended range shooting compared to my current one (regular CVA optima). I am talking muzzleloader distances. My current CVA optima shoots well enough out to about 150 yards but drops off after that. CVA now has the optima/accura in what they call a LR (long range) edition which has a 30in barrel. My optima v2 has only a 26in barrel. Will the additional 4inches offer additional speed? Anything else I should consider? I am hoping to get out to about 250 yards on medium game such as deer or black bear.
