Who makes the highest quality "factory" action? I've been looking at the Kimber, Ruger M77, Model 70 and CZ 550.
I'm currently undecided on a cartridge. I want at least a .338 cal but it might be based off the -06 case, WSM-like case (Sherman Mega), or take the easy route and use a traditional belted magnum case.
For a short/fat WSM option I like the Model 77/70's 3.1" mag boxes.
I've heard of these four, the Kimber is the nicest action and very close to custom. How do the others stack up to it? The Kimber does give up ~1/4" COAL to the Model 70/77 I think which makes it less desirable if I go WSM route. The 550 is very nice and I'd strongly consider it if I went with a standard or long magnum round - 338 Win or 375 H&H.
I'm still in the brainstorming stage but wanted some help understanding these different actions or if there is another I've just overlooked.

Montana rifle co. Of the choice given Mod 70 and for me, I like the classic. 2cents
They used to sell their 1999 action but I guess the new owners don't offer that option on the new one. Thanks for the suggestion.
Why the Model 70 over the other options?

We like Model 70, Ruger is Great, Kimber is smooth!
We have Model 70 in a .325 WSM
Kimber Montana in a .270 WSM
I would go with a Kimber or Model 70 and not with a Ruger-not enough options for Stocks/chassis.
