Cratering Primers

The new member @Tommy Miller that replied is not the OP. Just a FYI. We don't even know what he's shooting as he's not the OP. Anyways…. Whatever he's shooting he should stop. Hopefully the OP checks back in.
Thank you for pointing that out, I wasn't paying attention, Belay all of my post's up to this point please

I have been ragging on Weatherby about this problem.
Now they tell me that all 6.5 RPM Backcountry rifles do this.
If I have someone bush the firing pin hole it will void the warrenty.
Anyone else out there have a Backcountry 6.5 RPM?
Are you having this problem?

Reviving old thread.

@Husky user, Did you ever get your's bushed? I picked up a Backcountry 2.0 in 6.5 RPM and just started development and have craters on all firings. There are differences from low to top charges in the craters, but even the very low starting loads are cratered more than I see from my other rifles at max.

Have you thought about why a stronger spring would 'help', or whether there was actually a problem at all?
I don't see a problem with the little cratering you pictured, and I would not want more striking force than optimum to 'fix' it.
That's just me.
A lot of times a big company will do wrong things, and shovel BS, just to get past a worried customer. Sad but true..
Same with some gunsmiths
