Christensen arms Ridgeline

A tight chamber is not going to get your pressure up before book minimum. If your factory loaded ammo went into your chamber it is not too tight. Now there is a chance if the neck is too tight. That can cause higher and eratic pressure. I highly doubt they made a tight neck chamber without specifically putting the spec on the barrel. My guess would be tight bores.
That and any roughness would cause pressure right away. The 2 rifles my customers have had didn't have a problem with pressure. One wouldn't shoot better than 1.5moa with anything we fed it. One of them threw a flyer 2 inches out of the group so often you could count on it.

I've had a few barrels from well known custom makers that have done the same thing unfortunately. Currently battling one in 6.5prc. I shot a 5 shot group other day that had an es of 8. And it was 3" @ 100y. I'm bout ready to turn it into a tomato stake.

Ouch. 3 inches is pretty bad. Check the scope?
I ran my Burris xtr3, and mk5hd on it, rail is threaslocked and Hawkins rings all torqued to spec. I believe I got a bad barrel. Hornady match prc ammo has shot sub moa or even sub half in a half dozen prcs I've been around, I'll get one good group, then the next is 2-3 moa from a flyer way out. I've scoped it and crown/chamber are good and a good smith put it all together. There is tooling still after 300+ rounds. It was rough as hell to start and fouled horribly. But that's gotten a lot better after 200 rounds.

That sucks. Sounds like you covered the bases on it. Most custom barrel companies will give you a new barrel if your not happy with the one you have. I know I've got a couple and there was never an issue. I just put the new ones on for free and have a happy customer.

You're a better man than most!

You're going to love the 6.5-284. Tack driver and very mild recoil. The 140gr Berger VLD seems to be a perfect storm in the 6.5. Great accuracy and performance. Use RL23......very temp stable and will get you 3000 fps. I either shoot the VLD or the 124 gr Hammer Hunter monolithic bullet. It's a laser
If you want a little more speed r26 does that

Congrats on the purchase! I have 2 Ridgelines, one in .308 and the other in 6.5 PRC and both shoot very well. Had an issue with the extractor on the PRC and CA customer svc was great. They sent me a new extractor and I swapped it with no trouble. Problem solved. Enjoy your new one.

I had a ridgeline in 300 win and it shot well. I would say it was a consistent 3/4" gun and with some work I could have possibly squeezed that down a bit. I sold it and recently bought a Christensen carbon classic 2 in. 338 lapua from the classified here. I'm a firm believer in the standard 338 Lapua. I have an AI rifle in 338 as well. The carbon classic 2 is the predecessor to the Ridgeline I believe. It shoots very well and makes an excellent long range packing rifle. I'm getting business card size groups at 400yds. I believe it is a solid 800yd hunting rifle. I'm taking it to Wyoming hopefully next month for a bear hunt

It's not a ridge line but it is a 6.5x284. Taking it to the range soon. If I saw a Christianson for 1800 I probably wouldn't have built this at all lol

Just my kind of rifle there. Just nix the brake. 6.5s don't kick enough to need a brake in my opinion. That's why I like them. Hope it hammers for you. Always exciting to try a new rifle out.

I just bought a new Ca Ridgeline in 280 Ackley not impressed at all. The chamber is so bad the gunsmith and I could see nick in the chamber face, or breach. The extractor is hitting the face of the barrel. The gunsmith was the one who did the FFL transfer paper work. I didn't see any of the problems till I tried to put a new piece of brass in the chamber. Then there is a chunk taken out of the neck area (freebore). I will try and attach pictures of the problems. I saw all these things with my bore scope Testlong. I had him test fire the rifle 2 rounds the brass came out fine no real scratches and no sign of pressure. I'm just going to shoot it and see how it patterns not groups.

If you like accurate carbon barrel rifles, look into the Fierce line. Half inch guarantee on every rifle. The owner is the former President for CA. The entry level is plain no fluting but still shoots better than .5 moa. I have several of the long range packages. I have no problem hitting 1000 yards using factory ammo. Downfall 5k plus for the carbon line. Came with a zeiss scope, molded hard case, target with ammo info.

Jnm that it the typical poor machine work I've seen in them. No attempt to dress up those cuts at all. The black mark in the throat looks like lint from a patch maybe. The black looks like shadow to me. These are a few shanks I've done look at the difference.
