Also what "plastic primer" are you using?
You are putting cera-kote over rust-olium? No problems with chemical reactivity between to 2 different types of paints?

Not at all. I'll have to look at the primer. I bought it a Lowe's or Walmart. They both carry the same thing. I have 1 rifle I painted 5 or 6 years ago and it looks new still. I think the process is adequate for a diy guy but there may be better processes I'm not aware of. Hell, it might be fine to go direct cerakote to the plastic stock but I've adding texture for the feel and look.
