In the 80s & 90s I bought all Winchester brass, and most of it is still holding up very well. It was very consistent in wall thickness around the neck and the shoulder area +-.005". Lapua was heavier, thicker and less uniform (243 Win). The Peterson 270 Win brass I have was a total failure having many case head separations which I have never experienced before with Winchester or Norma brass. The Peterson 308 Win brass has been very good and is holding up very well right along with the lighter Win brass. I have a bunch of Starline 5.56 brass (same lot) that weighs from 94.2 - 98.4 grains per case (30.3 - 29.8 g H2O). The metallurgy seems to be spot on for durability, but it is so inconsistent in weight I only use it for plinking ammo in my 1976 Mini-14. In contrast, my Norma 223 brass (500 qty) weights from 91.6 - 92.4 grains and is extremely uniform in neck thickness. I use it in my Sako 75 bolt action. For the MSRs I use only LC brass and have great results and longevity with it.

I run Alpha in my 6 Dasher for PRS with great results - 19 loadings when I pulled a batch of 400 out of service. Seems like Lapua is the original premium brass. Alpha oriented on competition cartridges. ADG oriented on hunting cartridges. Peterson seems some of all.

L! I wasn't going there, but I am glad you did. I think most, if not all, of us will choose the highest-quality US-made product, unless there is a better option. The beauty of it all is that we have the freedom of choice and plenty of choices.There used to be a website that listed the US-made components in vehicles. Strangely, my 2011 Toyota Tundra has 80% while its big three equivalent was at 60%,

Alpha 100% first choice for the non magnum cartridges. After that I don't have a strong preference between ADG, Lapua, or Peterson but I won't buy a rifle cartridge unless one of the four makes brass for it.

@laketrout59 if this is a requirement for you, go this route.

What makes me ask is that I just went through some new brass for 2 other caliber and when hand priming, I could really tell the difference between the Lapua and the Adg. The Lapua brass was much more consistent when priming. The Adg varied quite a bit more. Just made me wonder. These were both new brass. Nothing was done to either yet.

From your list, I use Lapua along with Peterson and ADG, and have no issues with what you are experiencing.
