This was supposed to be a 3 day 2 night trip to shake down some new gear with the wife and get the kid out of his comfort zone…. Plans didn't go as we intended and kiddo got sick but we did get a nice little hike in before the sun went down on day 1 before a long haul back home.

I have been bad about keeping track of all our family camping and hiking adventures over the years so this was also going to be a little unconventional for me in that I was going to try and take more pictures in attempt to have them catalogued for memories sake. I guess as I'm getting older I'm getting more sentimental. Any who, here's a few of my favorites from the short trip

I'm reading Empire of the summer moon and I couldn't help but think of that book and all the history of our great state when staring out over this landscape. Beautiful but unforgiving

That's awesome!

Mine started with me when he was in moms belly. Funny story I can share that involves being "turned around" for more hours than I want to admit on a hunt in California while stationed out that way.

Been hiking and camping all his life (11 now) but for some reason marrying the two… he's just not too keen on so we are working through that the last couple years.
