calling dogs----

has anyone tried calling dogs in--- and instead of a "dog" --- you got
a bigfoot ? dont ask me how I know----
let me tell you---- thats a call I will NEVER make again--ever---

Well I was calling dogs one winter and got a cougar right in my lap!

I was calling on the 4th of july one year and out of the corner of my eye I saw some big dark brown thing moving my direction, It was a young bull moose in an area where there weren't supposed to be any moose.

Done a bit of dog calling - about half at night, half in day. Definitely had more surprises at night - owls, bobcats, mountain lions. The owls can seriously mess with you and your set. I've had more than a few rodeos with owls!

Called in a coyote once just by squeaking with my lips. 30-06 to the front of his chest.

I can honestly say "I've never called in a Bigfoot." But I don't hunt areas where they're common either. I've called lots of other critters, owls, crows, ravens, weasel, cows, deer, antelope, a badger and a mtn lion. But never called a squach. I might feel a bit "undergunned" if one showed up to a set.

I had owls hit my hat at night, never knocked off just brushed.

Therein lies the "problem"...... I used to believe that too.
You must understand that if you live in an area where there are deer, hogs or turkey---- all the stuff that gets hunted by humans ---- any time you go into the woods ---- you are being watched. and that goes for ALL 50 states except HI.

Yes--- we know you havnt.
Just be warned one of the coyote yips is also a territorial challenge for "other" animals. If you hear a bulldozer coming through the woods after calling----- well -----
you heard it here.
