So I have two rifles I primarily reload for, a Tikka 7mm-08 (kid's gun) and my Tikka 30-284 (basically 30-06 loads).

With the 7mm-08, I want to be able to load lightweight 110-120gr bullets with a regular but lower end charge for my kid's practice and also middle of the road charges for 145-160gr bullets for hunting.

With the 30-284, I want to load primarily 180gr bullets and occasionally a 200gr.

What powders do you all recommend I focus on sourcing to cover these? I have a few pounds of my keg of h4350 left that I figure should be fine for my hunting loads for the 7-08 and 30-284. But I don't have any powder for the lightweight 7-08 loads or for 150gr loads in the 30-284 if I want to use those for practice.

Trying to buy powder intelligently with the scarcity of components these days.

I would use the H4350 for the 150gr loads in the .30-284 and for the 150-160gr 7mm-08 loads. For heavy bullets in the .30-284 H4350 would work good also but something a little slower like RL23 or H4831sc may be a little better. Honestly, I would try and source another 8lb keg of H4350 for everything except the light bullets in the 7mm-08. For that I would use IMR 4064, Varget, or H4895.

Reloader 16 is in the 4350 burn range but fills a case significantly more with similar weights. Data for 7-08 on Alliant's site. Nothing for 30-284 but had 30-06.

FWIW. I have been using it in a 308 win with 215 Bergers.

Hodgdon Blc2 for the lighter bullets in 708. Might be able to find some of that on the shelf since I don't believe it's all that popular.
