Whats the scoop on these I have one coming 4.5-30X50 30MM tube. it has the tactical turrets. I think it's gonna make a great hunting scope for me for 1200yards and down. I would love to hear peoples thoughts about them.

Have you already paid for it ? I like Bushnell elite scopes, I've had 4200s and still have a 6x24x40mm that has served me well for over 12+ years on a few different rifles. I have a 2.5x16x50mm elite 6500 that is a good scope. I had a 4.5x30x50mm just like the one your waiting for and I couldn't get rid of it fast enough > It was fuzzy optically at 200 yds. But it was a cool looking scope. So expecting clarity out to 1200yds ?Thumbs down from me. My S3 Sightron 8x32x56mm is far better.

There was something wrong with it if it was fuzzy. I have played with a number of 6500's and they have very good glass.

Maybe it was my 50+year old eyes, but the glass in my Sightron is better and my Weaver Tactical and Older 4200............... It could be a subjective thing .

I think you are correct, SIII glass is clearer but the 6500 glass shouldn't be as you described either which is why I think you may have had a bad scope.

I think the glass in their Elite 4200( now discontinued) line,is better then their Elite 6500 line. My Sightron S3 is 1 step better ,but far from perfect. I had a IOR 2.5x10 it was better yet. My Weaver Tactical has great glass ,but its not schott German glass.

since they dropped the 3200 and 4200 in place of the (ELITE) I have bought a few 6-24's and a 8-32. while I agree they are a little under the SIII's I am satisfied with them I was hoping the 6500 would be close to the SIII, so I guess I will probably be out of luck there. I think it will make a good scope for my whitetail set up this year as long as it tracks right.

JC............Scopes are like motor oil. Everyone has an opinion.

Another mundane scope thread........

Iron sights work too. Lots of buffalo were harvested with no glass whatsoever.

bushnell is kinda funny they are really trying to make waves in the tactical market but they are forgetting key features, PUT A FREAKING ZERO STOP ON THE TURRET!!!!!!!!!! good lord its 2012 there should not be an optics company putting out new turret scopes without that feature. The reticle options are limited unless you like the stupid fadeing fad horus reticle. they went with a 34mm tube on some of the more interesting models. why? I dunno with a 20 moa base and a 30 mm tube scope I can get to one mile with my leupold, the extra 25 moa that only comes with SOME 34 mm scopes not all takes me an extra 200 yards to 1900 yards big whoop. I don't want a 34 mm scope and honestly very very few other guys need one either. bushnell's turrets are slow only offering 5 mils in one turn and I think 15 moa in the other scopes. to me they as a company are trying but perhaps they are listening to the wrong people and I have an idea who.

If you'll forward me the funds for a new Schmidt and Bender or a March, I'll be overjoyed.
