Best heavy 7mm bullet going slow?

My now ex-wife using the 7-08 I built for her was doing fine with either 168g ABLR & 175g ABLR to ranges beyond 700 on our medium sized and larger sized deer, but the Hornady is softer than these 2 and probably just as good terminally.
We always waited for a shot for a heart shot knowing the biggest bone would be a rib on entry, it never failed as that is where I taught her to shoot.
I really don't see a problem at the velocity you are quoting. Even under 2,000fps is gonna get you a kill.

Cheers.

I hit a mule deer buck broad side with the 180 eldm close to those speeds , clipped the shoulder bone and had a fist sized hole in the onside ribcage and several dime sized exits on the offside

I've been extremely impressed with 180 hybrids. Done great on vitals shots and shot a caribou through both shoulders last month. Dropped in his tracks and meat loss wasn't bad. That shot was at 505 yards with an impact velocity of 2110.
