I am looking for the best factory load for a 7mm mag with a 1:9.5 twist rate barrel. I want something that will effectively kill and elk from close range to 750 yards at 9000+ ft elevation.

I looked at the Barnes LRX bullets, but they are recommended for a 1:8 twist.

I have looked at Barnes, Berger, Nosler just to name a few and cannot decide on a bullet-- especially in a factory load.

Any help would be appreciated.....

I'd probably look at Nosler ammo with the 160 grain Accubond. It has pretty decent ballistic coefficient, and is a fairly stout bullet.

If you look at Berger's twist rate chart, they show the 180hybrid as being stable out of a 1:9.5, shooting 2850fps at 9000' even on very cold days! The 195's have a recomended 1:8.25. And if you that worried I shot the 168's out of my 9.5 twist Tikka and they shoot great! If all else fails, like they said above that 160 accubond is one hell of a bullet!
