Berger seating depth.

I've shot them from .006 off to .090 off and it's all gun dependent.

That being said, I usually start out at .040 off for hybrids and .020 off for VLD or Elite Hunters
Agreed! I shot them from touching the lands to .160" on VLDs, but most fall from .030-.040" of the lands. I abandoned touching the lands a long time ago, though.

I'm working up some loads for my 28 Nosler in 140 gr VLD Hunters with Winchester StaBALL HD starting at 75.5 gr and working up to 86.5 gr. So far only 2 loads are at sub moa at 100 yds but at 200 they open up over an acceptable amount. Does seating depth effect Berger bullets unlike Hammers?
Also, when starting out, I ditch the shooting for groups and shoot a ladder like the one in the pic. I saves a lot of time and ammo. I shoot each shot at least 10 min apart. This was at 200 yds. And the last group I shot on top was with so much mirage that the circle was floating around. This was in a 280ai with 180 berger hybrids and rl23. You can see very quickly where it like the powder to be. And that the barrel naturally likes that bullet. That was set .020 off and a quick powder ladder half a grn apart.

this is all good information, but I changes with mag length. I'm having to start stating depth adjustments off mag length and go from there
