COMPARED TO THE SAME TESTS WE RAN ON THE SIERRA 300 SMK IN 2001 THE BERGER BULLET PENETRATES FURTHER, HAS ABOUT THE SAME EXPANSION CHARACTERISTICS BUT IS MUCH MORE CONSISTENT ABOUT EXPANSION AT LOWER VELOCITY. I HAVE NO DOUBT THAT THE BERGER WILL BE GREAT AGAINST THE "HIGH BONE" SHOT THAT I FAVOR SO MUCH. MY CONCERN AFTER CROSS SECTIONING A BULLET WAS THAT THE ADDITIONAL JACKET THICKNESS WAS GOING TO HAMPER LONG RANGE TERMINAL PERFORMANCE, HOWEVER THIS TESTING SEEMS TO INDICATE THAT THE BERGER BULLET WILL BE AT LEAST AS GOOD AS THE SMK WAS AND SLIGHTLY BETTER IN MOST RESPECTS OF TERMINAL PERFORMANCE. AS ALWAYS THIS IS JUST TESTING AND CAN GIVE SOME IDEA ABOUT FIELD PERFORMANCE IT IS NOT COMPLETELY CONCLUSIVE. I HAVE HIGH HOPE FOR THIS BULLET AND PLAN TO USE IT THIS YEAR AND SEE HOW WELL IT WORKS IN THE FIELD.
